32 weeks

Finnian is 32 weeks old today. He is still doing great and is 3 lbs 4.5 ozs now. Unfortunately, he had to go back to CPAP on Thursday because he was having too many apnea spells on the canula. This is very common for preemies and the doctors just think he's a little too young and premature to go off it quite yet. He's been having minimal spells the last few days since he's been back on CPAP. They are going to try to move him off it again this week probably on Wed. He's also getting close to moving from his isolette to a crib. The isolette is turned off but still keeps him warmer being enclosed. Once his temperature is consistently above 99, he will move to the crib.

  1. Still steps forward as he continues to add weight. If you like, when he gets home I can be his Weight Gain Coach. Having pack on 100 pounds in 19 years makes me a viable candidate for teh job. If a small step back to the CPAP will ultimatly move him forward then we can live with that. I know it is a roller coaster for you and Brian but know that you have soooooooo much support and love around you that you can lean on any one of us at any time to get you through. Finnian Nation is STRONG!

  2. Wow- Finnian is really gaining weight very well. He's a strong little guy. It sounds like the moving to a crib will be a huge step too. Thinking of you all.
