Finn finally walking!

Watch out world - Finn is walking! He took his first steps without assistance a week before Thanksgiving and ever since he's getting braver and braver and walking all over the house. All he wants to do now is walk everywhere. It'll be no time before he's running!

Happy Halloween

Finn loved his second Halloween staying awake a little more for it. As you can see, he was a walrus. He came into EF for the Halloween party and I dressed as the zoo keeper. He crawled all over the office and met all my friends and co-workers. He was his usual silly, happy self and everyone loved him. For Halloween night, Brian, Finn and I just gave out candy with our neighbors and hung outside until we got too cold. The walrus suit really came in handy on that cold night. Finn didn't really go trick or treating but Brian brought him down the street in the wagon to show off his cute costume to the neighbors.

Fall fun

Finn loves playing in the leaves in the back yard. We'll see how helpful he is when it comes time to rake them all! He's doing great though very ready to start walking on his own. For now he "walks" everywhere pushing his toys and holding onto furniture. He also never stops "talking". he has so much to say - I just wish I understood him. :) He does say a few words now - da da, ma ma, truck, ball, up and a variation of balloon.

Oct Deveney Cape trip

For Columbus Day weekend this year, Brian Finn and I were joined by the rest of the Deveney clan at the Cavoli Cape house. It was absolutely beautiful weather so we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Brian and Steve ran a 5K race on Sunday and the rest of us watched and then checked out the local fall festival. As you can see, the boys really enjoyed the rides which were designed especially for little ones. Finn and Tyler play really well together and I can just see them becoming best buds as Finn gets a little older.
Finn was a lucky boy that weekend because he got to see both sets of grandparents when Nana and Poppa came to visit on Monday.

Apple picking!

We think Finn enjoyed his second apple picking experience a little more since last year he just slept on me in the baby bjorn. :) We had a beautiful summer like day and Finn tried his first apple! Now that he's getting 3 new molars he's ready for some harder food. He also went on his first hay ride and watched the chickens and goats that were there.

Finn's favorite summer activities

Like I said I have a lot of photos from the summer that I need to catch up on. The quality of these aren't great because they were taken by our cell phones but I couldn't resist posting them since they sum up Finn's favorite activities of the summer. Brian and Finn were very busy between beach trips, dips in the pool, wagon rides and lots of walks to the park or just swinging in our back yard. Remember when life was this simple?

Finn and friends

Finn had lots of fun with some friends this summer. He especially loved hanging out with his "girlfriend" Lily and even went in for a little smooch. He also got to meet some new friends, Connor and Charlotte and go for wagon rides in the yard. He's definitely the biggest one of his friends, edging in on 25 lbs - not bad for our little preemie!

Summer of Finn

It's been awhile since I've posted anything and my only excuse is that we've had a very busy fun filled summer. But don't worry, we've taken lots of pictures to document the last few months so I'll do my best to recap and post some of the best pics. One of the highlights of our summer was going to the Cape and spending time with all the Cavoli clan and extended family. In mid July we had a mini reunion with a bunch of aunts, uncles and cousins on both sides of the family. It was a blast for us to meet some of our cousin's new children and Finn had a blast hanging out with the other kids. He
also loved being read to by his cousins Emily and Brenna.
Another highlight of the summer was that Brian got to stay home with Finn and have lots of daddy days and adventures. He's back at school now and is a sad about his daddy days ending. We all feel lucky though that they had those days together and all 3 of us had four day weekends together as a family. And best of all, we can do it all again next summer!
The biggest milestone for Finn is that he started crawling this summer- right around mid July and our lives have never been the same. Actually it's a lot of fun and he loves exploring everywhere. He's now pulling himself up and climbing stairs - keeping us on our toes for sure.
Both Finn and Brian had a first this summer. They did their first road race together (see the stroller picture above). It had potential to be a lot of fun - 5K race right down the street from our house. Unfortunately, there were thousands of runners and many of them kept cutting Brian and the stroller off. And then Finn cried for the last 10 minutes of the race. We'll be looking for less crowded races in the future. We are now excited for many fall New England adventures.
